Synopsis

After weeks as a political hostage in the Illucian court, Thia has finally escaped, taking with her Res, the last surviving magical storm crow. Together with her allies Caylus and Kiva, she now has to reach a nearby kingdom in time for a summit where neutral rulers will decide how to respond to Queen Razel's conquering armies, and convince them that Res's power is worth the risk of standing up to her.

Res excels in training until he loses control of his magic and hurts Thia in the process, and Thia can't stop being drawn to Prince Ericen, heir to the Illucian throne and the one person she knows she can't trust. As the rebellion takes shape, Thia has to decide whether she can rely on herself, and her bond with Res, enough to become the crow rider her people need.

The second book in Kalyn Josephson's Storm Crow duology.
