Synopsis

A domestic psychological thriller told from the alternating points of view of Sara and Guy, a married couple with two children, Amber, who is away at university, and fifteen-year-old Jacob. When the parents notice that Jacob has grown withdrawn, quiet and unlike himself, they begin to suspect he is being bullied. Their attempts to resolve the situation by speaking to the other boy's parents only make things worse, and soon their son is hurt. Convinced they know the truth about the family targeting Jacob, and aware that this is not the first time that family has caused harm, Sara and Guy decide to take matters into their own hands. What begins as a desire to protect their child curdles into a dangerous campaign of revenge, and the central question becomes just how far two ordinary parents will go to defend their family, and what it will cost them when the consequences spiral beyond their control. A nail-biting, twist-filled thriller from the bestselling author of The Doctor's Wife.
