Synopsis

Cooper Winslow has been a star of the silver screen for decades, and his Hollywood estate, The Cottage, is as legendary as his charm. What nobody knows is that the roles have dried up and Coop is broke, facing the prospect of losing the house he loves.

Rather than sell, he lets out parts of the estate. His new tenants arrive with troubles of their own: Mark Friedman, whose wife of sixteen years has just walked out, and Jimmy O'Connor, who lost his wife to illness. When Mark's teenage son and daughter move in, the quiet of the estate ends — music, young starlets, a scandal — and three men who had never met begin, unexpectedly, to become friends.

Then The Cottage takes in another houseguest, a woman with a secret of her own, and Coop's life turns in a direction he never planned. Against a backdrop of celebrity and glamour, Danielle Steel tells a story of friendship and love, tragedy and second chances.
