I have a conflicted relationship with Matt Haig books. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy (especially on social media) But here's the thing with his books, at a certain point they become a bit tedious for me. All of the loving and comforting (this one was promoted as a ''hug in the form of a book'') become too much, it's like eating sweets, they sure are delicious, but you can make yourself sick if you go overboard with them. This is exactly what happens to me every time I read Matt Haig's books. This one started so beautifully, it was comforting, delightful, full of lovely interesting stories, then as pages went by it became overwhelming with the forced lovey dovey feelings and you should embrace life, and depression is bad, but look at me, I came out of it stronger and wiser and richer... To sum up, this book started as awwwww and ended up as ughhhh
