The Chemistry of Love
Anna Ellis is a gifted cosmetic chemist and a spectacularly bad judge of her own love life. For years she has quietly adored Craig Kimball, her boss at the family cosmetics company, and for years he has failed to notice. When Craig announces his engagement to someone else, Anna's carefully maintained hope collapses, and she quits.
Enter Marco Kimball, Craig's half-brother and the company's CEO, who makes her an absurd proposition: Craig has spent his whole life wanting whatever Marco has. If Anna and Marco pretend to be a couple, Craig will finally see her. All they have to do is stage a few dates and let the gossip do the rest.
Sariah Wilson's romantic comedy plays the fake-dating premise for warmth rather than farce. Anna is funny, awkward and genuinely brilliant at her work, and Marco turns out to be a closet nerd behind a corporate exterior. The joke, of course, is that the chemistry Anna is faking is the only real thing in the room.
