Synopsis

On a dreary, rainy afternoon, two children are stuck inside with nothing to do. Their quiet day takes a wild turn when a tall, rhyming cat in a hat appears. He brings with him a whirlwind of fun, games, and a bit of chaos, much to the dismay of the children's pet fish.

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to German-American parents. He attended public schools and then went to Dartmouth College, where he became editor of the Dartmouth _Jack-O-Lantern_. When he was barred from all extracurricular activities, he continued to write for the paper using the pseudonym "Seuss."
