Synopsis

The Break-Up Book Club is a standalone novel by Wendy Wax, set around a book club that meets in a historic carriage house turned bookstore in Atlanta.

Jazmine is a former tennis star turned top sports agent, raising her daughter alone. Judith is an empty nester finally asking what her marriage cost her. Erin was dumped days before her wedding and is now Jazmine's new assistant. Sara is a teacher stuck at home with a mother-in-law she never chose while her husband works out of town. They have almost nothing in common except a monthly meeting, a shared taste for books, and a willingness to say out loud what is going wrong.

Wax rotates the narration between the four women, letting each one's problem develop at its own pace. The result is a warm, talky, character-driven novel about friendship arriving late and unexpectedly, and about the difference between a life you chose and one that simply happened to you.
