I started reading this book thinking it was historical fiction that leaned towards literary fiction. I soon realized it had too many explicit sex scenes to be anything of the sort, but still, it's probably one of the best-written erotica I have ever read. And honestly, it's more about the mystery and the exploration of the effect of power and money in a southern family than it is about the hot romance at its center. I loved it and would definitely recommend it.
