Synopsis

Miss Addie Mallory has given up husband-hunting after six unsuccessful London Seasons and convinces her parents to let her use her dowry to buy a bookshop in Bath instead, somewhere she can build a life on her own terms.

Lord Grayson, Earl of Berkshire, has never gotten past his late wife's betrayal with his own brother, and has poured everything into raising his deaf son Michael. When his sister-in-law files court papers to have Michael declared incompetent, aiming to have her own son named Grayson's heir instead, Grayson turns to Addie, a dyslexic bookstore owner with a personal understanding of being underestimated, for help proving his son capable.

Working together to protect Michael draws the guarded earl and the independent bookseller closer than either expected. The first book in the Merry Misfits of Bath series.
