I found Book of Doors took a while to fully engage me, but things shifted when the main antagonist appeared. The villain added real tension, making the narrative significantly more compelling. The pacing kept things moving efficiently without feeling rushed, and Gareth Brown's concept of books as magical vessels offers an intriguing foundation for the world-building.
What worked best for me was Cassie's character development and the satisfying final twist. While not groundbreaking, the magic system feels fresh within its framework. It’s a solidly entertaining read that holds attention without overstaying its welcome.
