Meh.
I had issues with this book.
1 - Waaaaaay too many things that were figured out not by realistic stuff being connected but by the detectives just making a random guess that turns out to be right. Looking into obscure connections and running with them. Once in this kind of book, fine. But nearly every development? Eye rolling
2 - maybe this is a byproduct of this being an old book but there was ONE female character and OF COURSE the lead is immediately looking at her as a sex object. And OF COURSE she’s also into him. And OF COURSE they have to have a relationship. EYE. ROLL. C’mon.
3 - the ending. For f•••••• real?! She’s gonna spill her guts to him like some kind of crybaby? Because “oh here I’m the weak weepy little woman who can’t keep it to myself and I’m going to tell the guy who can get me in trouble because I’m so trusting and in love!” She was strong enough to orchestrate the whole damn thing but then falls apart when this one dude asks her questions? UNREALISTIC. Ugh.
