Synopsis

Driven by a love for bialys, Mimi Sheraton travels to Bialystok, Poland, hoping to uncover the history of this Jewish bread. Instead, she finds a town devastated by massacres and the Holocaust, with its Jewish population nearly erased. Sheraton then embarks on a global journey, seeking out scattered Bialystokers in Israel, Paris, and across the United States to preserve their stories, their vibrant culture, and the cherished recipe for their iconic bread.
