I dived into this book pretty much blindly - the only thing I knew was that this was Tananarive Due's debut novel - and boy... everything, and I mean everything, took me by surprise.
This book had me hooked on from the very beginning, I basically read the whole thing in two sittings.
I loved the storyline, the theme, the mystery, the characters, the writing style (the tense shift between reality and the "dreams" sequences was interesting)...I was on edge till the very end. I loved these characters, this family so much, I wanted Hilton to be wrong about the situation (he also did have some doubts about it till the end).
And that epilogue, man... it had me teary eyed and smiling at the same time.
