Synopsis

Tarzan's old foe, Nikolas Rokoff, escapes prison with a sinister plan: to kidnap Tarzan's son and heir, and capture Tarzan and Jane. Stranded on a remote island in Africa, the Ape-man must befriend a troop of apes and tame a panther to escape. He races against time to rescue his family from Rokoff's dastardly scheme.

Edgar Rice Burroughs was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of a businessman. During the Chicago influenza epidemic in 1891, he spent half a year on his brothers' ranch on the Raft River in Idaho. He attended the Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and then the Michigan Military Academy, from which he graduated in 1895.
