Synopsis

Halley Finnegan agrees to play a glamorous Italian contessa for a weekend murder-mystery party, slipping into a borrowed identity far more dazzling than her ordinary life. Cast opposite her is Nick Harrington, a genuine baron whose charm makes the role feel dangerously real. As the staged intrigue unfolds, Halley discovers that pretending to be captivating has awakened a confidence she never knew she had, and the attraction between her and Nick refuses to stay within the bounds of the game. But the fantasy carries a cost: beneath the costume she is an unremarkable woman, while Nick belongs to a world of titles and privilege. When the weekend ends and the masks come off, both must decide whether what they felt was theatrical illusion or something worth risking the truth for. A light, escapist category romance built around mistaken identity, class difference, and the thrill of becoming someone bolder than you believed yourself to be.
