Synopsis

Robinette Broadhead, a consciousness living as a machine-stored personality, finds his decadent afterlife interrupted by a terrifying threat. A powerful alien race, long dormant, has returned with the goal of destroying all intelligent life. With the fate of humans and Heechee hanging in the balance, Robin must confront this unknown enemy, even if his vast knowledge cannot reveal their secrets.
