The American people. Volume 1, Search for my heart

This ambitious work presents Larry Kramer's provocative vision of American history, spanning from prehistory to the 1950s. It reimagines pivotal moments, from prehistoric origins of a virus and early same-sex loving settlers to revised intimacies between founding fathers and a new understanding of Lincoln's assassination. As the twentieth century unfolds, a sinister conspiracy emerges to exterminate homosexuals, coinciding with the onset of the AIDS epidemic.
