Synopsis

Everyone in town warns Elizabeth away from Tristan Cole: he's cruel, he's cold, he's damaged. But Elizabeth has lost her husband, and when she looks at Tristan — a man hollowed out by the deaths of his wife and son — she recognizes the same emptiness she carries herself.

What begins between two people who have nothing left to lose becomes an unlikely, slow-building connection, as each helps the other survive their grief and relearn how to hope again.

The Air He Breathes is the first book in Brittainy C. Cherry's Elements series, marketed by its publisher as "A Heartbreaking and Hopeful Slow-Burn Romance."
