Apparently, this comic is based on a podcast about a family playing D&D. I have never listened to the podcast nor played D&D, but this comic was getting rave reviews so, I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, like so many things sighs, it didn't live up to the hype, at least not for me.
Though it was kind of humorous throughout, I only laughed out loud once. The narrative wasn't as wacky or innovative as I was expecting either. It's just about a group of novice adventurers that are inept but lucky enough to pull through their quests.
There was something that really bothered me because it was so glaringly obvious: the almost total lack of female characters. There were only two in the whole story, and one of them only appears, in like, two pages at the end.
It's entertaining enough to make me want to listen to the podcast since it's probably much better than this comic, but I'm not likely to do that though nor of reading Volume 2 of this story.
