I love that the series remains with the same humor and fun as the first one. There’s a huge revelation I was not expecting and I was very happy reading about it. We got Alexis the talking sword back and I still think Kimberly needs to give her a human body and a whole book.
But… I’m not so sure I liked it as much as the first one.
One of the things I adored from Fallon and Cin’s book was that they had an end goal and in all that travel they found hilarious adventures, side characters, romance and spicy moments. But in this one it was not as clear, I felt like Dante and his mate were just traveling from one place to another without a goal. I thought that the adventure was going to be the quest Fallon And Dante mentioned in the beginning (maybe in the next book) but it wasn't.

Also when Cherry was finally out of the tower she was confined to for 5 years I was expecting a bit more urgency to go home to her family, not to say I didn't like her adventurous spirit but it felt like she didn’t care that much, and when we got the reunion I wanted to see for the whole book it just… ended. Anyway, it was enjoyable as all the books from this series are, but Fallon and Cin are still #1 in my heart.
“Yup. The cult was full of a bunch of gross men nobody wanted to bang, so they stole a bunch of women to sacrifice to a giant lobster. It was wild.”
This exact phrase is why I read and love these books. It also shows how bad Alexis needs her book.
