I want to give it all the stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was one the funniest books I have ever read in my life.
I'm usually very critical when it comes to fantasy books, and I have a hard time giving them 5 stars, but I just let all the minor details slide, cause I was having so much fun.
I still don't know how the author managed to put all that action in less than 200 pages. I'm used to 500+ pages fantasy books and this reminded me that maybe you don't need that amount to tell a good story. It has an amazing plot that gets solved in this book, introduces more fun characters that I liked, we get to travel the world, there is religious brainwashing, lots of fights, romantic and spicy moments, even a city gets burned down, all of that in this tiny book. It was the perfect balance between silliness, fun, action and conflict.
I'm aware it's not perfect, it needed more worldbuilding, some serious matters were brushed away (like slavery), and I would have liked more reaction from the background characters and Cinnamon while they were told that everything they knew was a lie but at the same time I was so glad it didn't take too long to get started with the adventure. I feel like it was meant to be a lighter story so it works even if it doesn't have 200 pages of worldbuilding like most serious fantasy books.
I thought I was going to have issues with the writing and the VERY modern way the characters speak (in a medieval style world) but I think it added to the silly fun this book was.
“Who wouldn’t want to go off on a grand adventure with a bunch of hot heroes also chosen by the goddess?” Me bitches. No, thank you.”
Would have love to see Fallon POV on everything but I loved Cinnamon anyway.
It's been a while since I laughed out loud while reading a book so there you go, 5 stars. And please give me more.
