Terry Pratchett's Mort
Stephen Briggs's stage adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Mort, the fourth Discworld novel. Death takes on an apprentice named Mort, who gets board, lodging, and free use of a horse — no time off required, not even for a grandmother's funeral. When Mort is sent to collect the soul of a princess and instead kills her would-be assassin, he changes the course of history, and Death has to decide what to do about a universe now running slightly out of true.
Written for amateur and community theatre, this acting edition follows the same plot as the novel while trimming it for the stage.
