Synopsis

Orgon has fallen under the spell of Tartuffe, a man who claims to be a pious holy man but is actually a clever con artist. While the rest of the family sees through the charade, Orgon hands over his fortune and his daughter's hand in marriage to the intruder. This classic French comedy skewers religious hypocrisy and the blindness of those who refuse to see the truth right in front of them.
