Set in early 20th-century Mexico, this story follows Júbilo, a man born with the unique ability to hear people's true, unspoken feelings. He becomes an interpreter between his Maya grandmother and Spanish mother, bridging two irreconcilable cultures. Júbilo's gift leads him to become a telegrapher, translating and interpreting messages as he sees fit. Through the eyes of his daughter, Lluvia, we uncover Júbilo's life, marked by the discord between desire and words, and his final lesson that love travels at the speed of desire.
