Synopsis

Marta Aguilera is a committed journalist who learns she has a terminal brain tumor and only months left to live. With nothing left to lose and no one to answer to, she decides to spend her remaining time delivering the justice the system failed to provide, targeting perpetrators of human trafficking, child abuse, domestic violence, and organized crime.

As Marta metes out her own eye-for-an-eye justice, she is pursued by the sharp and determined Inspector Daniela Gutiérrez in a tense cat-and-mouse chase against the clock. Told across four interlinked cases and alternating between Marta's first-person voice and the perspectives of the people around her, Santiago Díaz's debut novel is a dark Spanish crime thriller that asks what a person is willing to do when they have nothing left to fear.
