I loved it. It took me a little while to like the story but once Tristan met Claire's children I couldn't stop reading. I was trying to contain my laughter in the office (without much success, unfortunately, I don't know what my boss thinks of me now).
“I never knew what hell looked like. Now I do.”
“And the dog,” I cry. “The poor f•••••• dog.”
“What’s wrong with the dog?”
“They have a f•••••• bucket thing tied to its head.”
“What for?”
“To torture it . . . why else?”
I hate books where the main characters' children are basically plants that appear when it’s convenient for the plot. But in this one, the children are the best part of the book. It has super funny scenes but also very sad and tense moments because of the grief of the family towards the death of the father. But the balance is very well written.
Tristan is a 100/10, my respects to him. Claire I also liked but near the end, she did something that made me hate her a bit. I liked Tristan's mom in the last book, she helped solve the conflict but in this one, she seemed to me like a gossipy old woman.
I liked the ending but I was a little unsatisfied,
Spoiler
(I was waiting for the Miles family reunion with the children, the adoption papers, and when they finished the rocket and took it to the store seller) it was too abrupt.
