Septimus Heap, now a Senior Apprentice, sets off on a flight with his dragon Spit Fyre to bring his friends home from the Trading Post. A storm forces them down on a remote island guarded by a lighthouse that has lost its light — and by a ghostly, singing presence that lures sailors to their doom. Stranded far from the Castle, Septimus and his companions must unravel the island's enchantment while a threat gathers against everything they left behind.
