•Updates: The more I think about this book, the more disappointed I feel. And when I read my old review, I realize that the positive things I wrote were driven by emotions and my love for the characters—because I wasn’t ready to part with them yet.
Honestly, I finished the series for Morana and Tristan, but Tristan in this book wasn’t the Tristan we know. (Who swapped the real Tristan with a knockoff version?) His treatment of Morana in this book was incredibly disappointing.
The chapters were filled with excessive narration and over-the-top descriptions, with very few dialogues. I even found myself skipping some lines just to get to the conversations.
That said, the emotions in this book were well-executed, especially when it came to Tristan and Luna, as well as Luna and Dane. However, the rest of the characters didn’t feel like themselves at all.
• my old review:
The only thing that stood out at the beginning of the book was the meeting between the siblings. However, many chapters felt filled with meaningless details, and for about 60% of the book, nothing truly exciting happened. Yet, as always, the author managed to amaze us in the last 15% of the book. The emotions and relationships were incredible, and I grew to love Luna and the Shadow Man even more in this installment. The ending was absolutely beautiful, and I’m not sure how to feel now that we’re saying goodbye to these characters.
Ps : Okay it’s obvious that morana and tristan are my favourite and i’m screaming cuz we’ll have a baby caine aaahhhhhh 😭😭😭
