Synopsis

Years after losing her husband and raising their teenage son on her own, Sally Tuft has kept the one other man she ever wanted at arm's length, insisting to her best friend and coworker, Gage Ryder, that they are better off as friends. Now her son has left for college, and without the distraction of a full house she can't stop replaying what might have been. Gage has always believed that one day Sally would move past her grief and let the two of them finally explore the passion that has simmered between them since the day they met. When he is assigned to open a new youth center in Oak Falls, Virginia, he hopes the trip away is exactly what they need to close the distance at last. But before they ever reach Oak Falls, a single night at a conference changes everything, putting both their friendship and their love on the line. Having spent years playing it safe, Sally and Gage must now decide whether getting swept up in each other is the beginning of the forever they have quietly wanted, or the end of the steady friendship they can't imagine living without.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I read Swept into Love as a standalone, or do I need to read the series in order?

You can read Swept into Love on its own. It is book 5 of The Ryders, one of the interconnected sub-series in Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom collection, and every Love in Bloom book is written as a standalone with its own complete romance and a guaranteed happily ever after. Reading the series in order simply lets you follow the extended family as familiar characters reappear across the books.

  • Who are the main characters in Swept into Love?

Swept into Love follows Sally Tuft and Gage Ryder. Their romance is the heart of the book, set among the big, close-knit families Melissa Foster's readers return for.

  • How steamy is Swept into Love?

Swept into Love is an open-door contemporary romance, so it pairs its emotional story with on-page love scenes. Readers who prefer sweeter, closed-door versions can look for Melissa Foster's clean-language editions published under her pen name, Addison Cole.
