Cassio Moretti runs the mob's Philadelphia territory. His wife is dead, and he is raising their two children alone. A boss in his world does not marry for love, so his father-in-law offers him Giulia Rizzo instead, eighteen and barely out of her own parents' house, to seal the arrangement.
Giulia expects to be treated as hired help with a ring on her finger. At first the household agrees with her. Daniele, the older of Cassio's two children, wants nothing to do with her, and Cassio barely looks past what she is useful for.
She refuses to settle for a place at the edge of her own family. She starts pushing back against a house built on rules that do not bend for an eighteen year old bride, and Cassio slowly starts to see her rather than her role. What began as a business arrangement turns into something neither of them planned on.
Giulia also starts asking what really happened to the first Mrs. Moretti, and the answers put the fragile family she is building at risk.
Sweet Temptation stands alone, but it shares its city and cast with Cora Reilly's Camorra Chronicles and Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles. It is a dark, adult mafia romance built on a wide age gap and an arranged marriage, with open-door scenes and the violence its families live by.
