Sweet Nightmare
Synopsis
Clementine Calder is seventeen and has never lived anywhere but a small island off the Gulf Coast. Her family runs Calder Academy there, a paranormal boarding school for magical misfits. Her mother is the headmistress, and Clementine has long resented the strict rules that keep students from testing their powers.
Then a Category 5 hurricane closes in on the school. As the storm builds, Clementine's dormant manticore abilities start to surface. She also finds she can see ghosts and catch flickers of the past and the future, gifts she never expected.
With few people left to trust, she turns to Jude Abernathy-Lee, a dark and brooding dream daimon. He was once her best friend and her first crush. The storm brings up secrets the academy has kept buried for years, and Clementine is caught in the middle of them.
This is a paranormal romantasy told in a witty first-person voice, and the pace is quick. It is the first book in the Calder Academy series, a spin-off set in the world of Tracy Wolff's Crave series.
It was published by Entangled in May 2024. Characters from Crave return, and the story is written to be approachable for readers new to that world. It is recommended for readers 14 and up.
