Synopsis

Still continues the story of Marlon "Grip" James, an up-and-coming hip-hop artist, and Bristol Gray, his manager and the sister of his best friend, as the couple navigates life together after the events of Grip. Told in alternating first-person points of view, the novel follows the pair through the pressures of fame and public scrutiny as they test whether the promises they made to each other can hold.

Kennedy Ryan's writing is frequently described as poetic and emotionally raw, and Still leans into that reputation, weaving verse alongside prose. Beyond the central romance, the book engages directly with the couple's experience as an interracial pair confronting prejudice and social tension in contemporary America, giving the love story a socially grounded backdrop.

Still is part of Kennedy Ryan's Grip series, which began with the novella Flow and continued with Grip; it closes out Bristol and Grip's arc.
