Statues: Junji Ito Story Collection

Arotahi Agency

Synopsis

A collection of ten horror short stories by Junji Ito, translated by Jocelyne Allen. The title story follows an art teacher who sculpts strange, headless statues before he is found murdered — his own corpse headless — after which a member of his art club begins acting strangely. Other stories in the collection draw on urban legend and local custom, including a riverside town where the dead are set adrift on tatami mats, and a mysterious illness that makes girls beautiful before it kills them.

As with Ito's other collections, the stories are self-contained and can be read in any order. Published by VIZ Media (VIZ Signature) in hardcover.
