I started reading this book at the beginning of the year and put it aside when I got sidetracked by shinier (probably emptier) reads. It's only fitting that I picked it up at the end of the year and gave it another chance, just in time to watch the TV adaptation coming out. It was a marvellous decision since I ended up loving it. It's the kind of book that leaves you with a lesson particularly important in these trying times: appreciate the wonders and miracles happening all around us, every day, that we have taken for granted.
