When a story focuses on a despicable character, it must be well-done. The reader should find the character interesting enough so that they don't feel only disgust from his moral depravity and give up reading. The way to do that is to give them realistic motivations and character growth. This story fails on both accounts. I only finished reading it so I could righteously complain about it.
