SPIDER-MAN BEYOND PAPERBACK 1
Synopsis
When the unscrupulous Beyond Corporation acquires the rights to Spider-Man, they install a heavily tech-upgraded Ben Reilly — Peter Parker's clone — as the new official hero of New York. It's meant to be a controlled corporate experiment, but everything changes when Peter falls into a coma and Ben is forced to take full responsibility for the mantle, facing down Doctor Octopus, Kraven, Morbius, and a wary Miles Morales along the way.
This first collected volume of the Beyond saga reframes the Spider-Man mythos around corporate ownership and identity, using Ben Reilly's uneasy inheritance of the role to ask what it really means to be Spider-Man.
