The fourth Tennyson Hardwick novel. Actor-turned-investigator Tennyson Hardwick is in South Beach, Florida, filming a television detective series when his soon-to-be-adopted daughter, Chela, reconnects with Maria — a friend from her past life on the streets of Los Angeles. When Maria disappears into the Miami club scene and later washes ashore dead, her murder appears tied to a serial killer preying on young sex workers. Tennyson believes he knows who is responsible, but when the suspect slips away and then turns the hunt on Ten's own family, he is forced toward an impossible choice: save his daughter or the woman he loves. A suspense thriller by actor Blair Underwood with Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes, its title a nod to Hitchcock's North by Northwest.
