Synopsis

Winter has settled over Bilbao when Inspector Ander Crespo, head of the Ertzaintza's Group 4 homicide unit, is called to the scene of a murder signed by a killer calling himself H9. As more bodies surface, each left in increasingly brutal fashion, Crespo and his team race to identify a predator who seems to be taunting the investigation itself.

The case takes a darker turn when the details start to echo a series of disappearances of young women from the late 1990s — a cold case that turns out to be tied to Ander's own past, pulling him personally into a hunt he can no longer treat as just another file.

"Solsticio de Invierno" is Unai Goikoetxea's debut novel, originally self-published to strong reader response before being picked up by Suma de Letras. It is the first book in the Trilogía del Solsticio (Solstice Trilogy).
