Synopsis

Slow Gods follows Mawukana na-Vdnaze, called Maw, whose passage through arcspace, the dangerous dimension spaceships travel through, left him immortal and prone to catastrophic destruction when overwhelmed. His rare gift for navigating arcspace safely makes him one of the most sought-after pilots in a galaxy full of political conflict, and repeatedly pulls him toward Adjumir, a planet with no hope of escaping the fallout of a dying star. Claire North charts Maw's impossibly long life against the slow, unfolding fate of humanity among the stars, in a space opera built around a queer central romance and questions of what it means to keep choosing to live.
