Jessica Hawkins is a USA Today bestselling American contemporary romance novelist known for emotionally intense, angst-driven love stories, including the Cityscape and Slip of the Tongue series. She grew up in Palm Springs, California, studied international business at Arizona State University, and has also lived in Costa Rica and New York City, where she is currently based. She continues to write while traveling, drawing on the cities and settings that recur throughout her novels.
