Eduardo Mendoza
Eduardo Mendoza Garriga (Barcelona, 11 January 1943) is a Spanish novelist, playwright and translator. Trained as a lawyer, he lived in New York from 1973 to 1982, working as a translator for the United Nations. His debut novel, La verdad sobre el caso Savolta (1975), won the Premio de la Crítica in 1976; the Cervantes jury later credited it with inaugurating a new phase in Spanish narrative.
