Shot in the Dark

Sylvia has spent twenty-one summers quietly defying her village's strict rules, exploring beyond its borders into an abandoned human mansion in the forest — until monster hunters Jon and Cliff shoot her wing, convinced she's behind a string of gruesome disappearances. When Sylvia saves Jon's life by sealing a pact with the enigmatic Ancients, she's forced to stay at his side while he and Cliff hunt a dangerous werewolf, all while trying to find a way out of the Ancients' cryptic bargain. As the hunt drags on, hostility between Sylvia and Jon melts into forbidden attraction neither can afford if her secret comes out.

Anne Kendsley and Mary Dublin open the Shot in the Dark series with an action-packed urban fantasy about identity, found family, and love across enemy lines.
