Synopsis

Young Charles Marlow is too shy to speak to women of his own class, but perfectly at ease with barmaids. When he and his friend Hastings travel to the country to meet Kate Hardcastle, Marlow mistakes her father's house for an inn, leading to a series of hilarious misunderstandings. Kate, intrigued by Marlow's dual nature, decides to 'stoop to conquer' his affections by posing as a servant girl. This classic comedy explores themes of class, deception, and the true nature of love.
