This book had great promise, and the heroine, Emily, is intelligent and skilled, but god is it annoying.
For one thing, every guy in the book, no matter how old, comments on Emily's attractiveness; they mention how she has a great body, and she's groped more than once by full-grown policemen. She's fifteen, by the way. Then there's the fact that the author (a man) has no idea how girls think — he spends way too much time having Emily think about boys and her own body (a whole paragraph about her period? Really?) and not enough about, you know, staying alive. Then there's the insta-love, and the cliché that swallows the book. I would not recommend this to anyone. Don't read it.
