Ari Alvarez enters a demanding nursing career still shadowed by grief and unanswered questions about her older brother's death. Danny Rider, callsign Grim Reaper, is a lethal, self-contained Navy SEAL convinced he failed the one promise he made to Ari's brother — to look out for her. When the two end up overseas together, Danny's guilt curdles into fierce possessiveness, even as Ari becomes the one thing capable of cutting through the trauma he's carried through years of deployment.

Lexie Axelson opens the Scarred Executioners series with a dark military romance built on grief, guilt, and a promise neither character can walk away from.
