Sea of Death
Jake Wolfe, an American covert operative, takes his motor yacht into Mexico's Sea of Cortez on the trail of a rogue cartel assassin. The man is due to meet a narco submarine carrying military grade weapons bound for the Baja Peninsula.
Jake's orders are to capture the arms dealer together with the cargo: AK-47 rifles, armor-piercing ammunition and rocket-propelled grenades. Criminal gangs plan to use them to terrorize local residents, so the shipment cannot be allowed to land.
In La Paz, Jake works the city streets with Cody, his former war dog. Behind closed doors they uncover criminal activity far worse than they expected. When Jake shuts down one of the assassin's trafficking operations, the killer answers by starting a war, and it can end only with one of them dead.
Dr. Sarah Chance comes along on the mission. She is Jake's girlfriend and Cody's veterinarian. Though she faces mortal danger every day, she wants to serve as First Mate aboard the yacht Far Niente and help keep Cody safe.
The book is an action thriller set between the water and the port city. It belongs to a series but reads fine as a standalone.
