Synopsis
Der Schatz der gläsernen Wächter opens Dane Rahlmeyer's steampunk-fantasy trilogy. The age of Ælon has long passed, but some of its wonders and horrors survive, hidden in ancient temples and sunken palaces across the world.
Young archaeologist Kriss receives an assignment from the wealthy Baroness Gellos: locate the legendary island of Dalahan. Many searchers have vanished trying to find it before her — including Kriss's own mother, also an archaeologist. Accompanied by Lian, a former street boy, Kriss sets out on the perilous search, following clues through ruins that blend old-world magic with early industrial technology.
The novel is the first of three, continued in "Das Schwert der Todlosen Königin" and "Das Zepter des Dritten Mondes," and mixes adventure-archaeology plotting with a steampunk-inflected fantasy setting.
