Scarlet

Synopsis

Scarlet Benoit's grandmother has disappeared, and Scarlet is convinced the police are missing something. Her only lead is Wolf, a street fighter who seems to know more than he's telling. Reluctant to trust him but desperate for answers, Scarlet accepts his help, and the two are drawn into a conflict that stretches far beyond a single missing woman.

Meanwhile, Cinder, a fugitive cyborg mechanic, escapes prison custody with one goal: to prove her identity as the Lunar princess Selene, who could end Queen Levana's tyranny once and for all. With the help of the dashing Captain Thorne, Cinder navigates her newfound outlaw status while trying to stay one step ahead of her enemies.

Cinder's and Scarlet's paths collide, and a rebel group forms to challenge the merciless Lunar Queen. The second book in the Lunar Chronicles blends fairy-tale retellings (Little Red Riding Hood alongside the earlier Cinderella) with science fiction, building toward a growing rebellion against Queen Levana's rule.
