Synopsis

Catherine is a twenty-something recovering Irish American Catholic who's mostly swapped religion for the ordinary "city girl" grind: work, family, relationships, the usual. Still, she can't quite shake the old fear that skipping Sunday Mass will bring down some kind of punishment.

The first time she actually misses it, the fear turns out to be founded: Catherine finds herself possessed by a demon claiming to be a prince of hell. As she works to exorcise it, both the literal demon and the guilt she's carried since childhood, Catherine is forced to confront what "being good" has actually meant to her all along.

Anna Meyer's debut graphic novel uses possession as a blunt, funny, and surprisingly tender metaphor for inherited Catholic guilt.
