Interesting world-building (an alternative England of the early 1900s side by side to a medievalish Old Kingdom of sword and magic, and lots, lots of Dead), a rather nice heroine, a clever system of magic employing bells, BUT somehow I didn't connect with me; I found it a bit more artificial for my taste, although, as I imply, it did have some potential.
